Becomes possible thanks to our overall design of learning arrangements.
Based on a learning “theme” a story is developed – a story that could be real and in addition to that all the necessary “add-ons” support by means of latest technologies highly intensive and effective learning experiences.
Lets explain this concept with an example, however in broad terms: If for example the theme is “leadership” in a curriculum for managers:

Learning concepts based on stories to involve people

The story’s plot runs along typical every-day situations of people in a company: interviews, talking together, gossiping, decision making, doubts, judgments, pressure, feelings and emotions, meetings, thoughts… The subject-material is built around both adequate and inadequate reactions and behaviors. And their effects on colleagues, employees and customers. A good story, based on real life experience, opens eyes, ears, and hearts.

Viewers empathize with the characters, even though it is “only a story”. Or perhaps just because of that.
The learning person „experiences“ the effects of desired and undesired behaviors. Without being fingerpointed! Very often, it is exactly this unthreatening “viewing from a distance”, which makes understanding and learning possible. It is so much more acceptable to discover development needs by ourselves than by being made aware of by others. Thus, role model behaviors very often will be “copied” consciously or even unconsciously. Frequently by means of an “experiment”.

Blended Learning as a principle

Stories are the building blocks for „blended-learning-arrangements“ in a holistic way. Classical teaching methods are used as well as novel approaches in combination with state-of-the-art technologies. Thus offering different gateways for a vast variety of different learning preferences. And furthermore adapting to the ever widening range of different learning environments and job situations (part-time, patchwork, job-sharing, mobile work force etc.).

A story will accompany the learners through all stages of their development path: as a video clip in their seminars and in Web Based Training, as a dialogue via podcast, as a vivid example in the reader…
State-of-the-art technologies are come to play both in the production of stories and in the dissemination of content.
To be able to produce fast and at lowest cost, we set up an audio and movie production studio in Duebendorf (near Zurich), equipped with the most modern hard- and software. A large green-screen in the studio as well as highly versatile equipment allow us to produce on very demanding time-lines.
